Pianist Nala Baik was born in Seoul, South Korea, in 1985 and began playing the piano at the age of four. She was later accepted into Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School, where she studied piano under Se-Kyung Park and Professor Young-Ho Kim. From 2005 to 2009, she studied piano with Professor Kyungah Choi at Kyungwon University.
She continued her studies in Germany, earning her diploma with distinction from the Rostock University of Music and Theater under Professor Bernd Zack in 2013. In 2017, she completed her master’s degree at the Berlin University of the Arts under Professor Mi-Joo Lee. In addition to her artistic training, she also studied instrumental pedagogy at the Brandenburg Technical University of Cottbus under Professor Wolfgang Glemser.
Nala Baik has won numerous national piano competitions, including the 2nd prize at the International Piano Competition ISCHIA in 2014. She has given piano recitals in Korea, Italy, Canada, and Germany. Since 2017, she has been teaching piano at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg while continuing to perform in concerts.
